Artificial Intelligence and Medical Robotics
As part of the Medical Robotics Week 2023, we are delighted to invite you to a dynamic four-hour workshop focusing on artificial intelligence and medical robotics.
The workshop is organized by Innovation Booster Robotics, in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering from the University of Basel and Innovation Booster Digital Health Nation. Our collective aim is to foster knowledge sharing and facilitate radical innovation through strategic collaborations.

The workshop is part of a larger event, Medical Robotics Week 2023 (August 22-26), which also includes the 22nd annual conference of the German Society for Computer- and Robot-Assisted Surgery (CURAC). CURAC is a society that champions scientific research and its practical applications in the area of computer- and robot-assisted surgery, leveraging synergy and interdisciplinarity between medicine, surgery, engineering, and computer science. The workshop aims to generate ideas around the use of artificial intelligence in medical robotics. The session will include participants from academia, industry, students, and NGOs, to foster collaborations to drive innovation in the realm of AI and medical robotics.
AGENDA
- 12:30 – 14:00: Lunch (as part of the conference, alongside other conference participants)
- 14:00 – 15:45: Panel discussions.
We’ll kick off with a panel centered on: “Key challenges in integrating AI with medical robotics that urgently need attention and are presently actionable.”

- 15:45 – 16:15: Coffee break (organized as part of the conference)
- 16:15 – 18:00: Ideation workshop
Following lunch and the coffee break, we’ll divide into breakout groups. The subjects for these groups will be announced post-break, once we reconvene in the main room. At that time, we’ll delve into the specifics of the discussions for the sessions and address any organizational matters.
- 18:00- 21:00: Barbecue, integrated with the conference and open to all its attendees.
Note: There’s a 50 CHF charge for the networking event after the workshop.
